Biodiversity for Building Resilient Agricultural Landscapes (B-REAL)

Funding Partner: Alliance for Bioversity &CIAT

Project pathways;

(I) Enhance integration of biodiversity conservation, ecosystem health, and climate resilience into agricultural landscapes; 

(II) Strengthen enabling environment for sustainable and socially equitable biodiversity use and management; 

(III) Enhance equity and inclusivity in the access, use, and benefits sharing of biodiversity genetic resources among women, men, youth, and marginalized communities.

Objectives;

  1. Support Kenya in translating key portions of NBSAP to local implementation mechanisms.
  2. Assist sub-national governments in incorporating NBSAP N+ and AE measures into development plans and strategies.
  3. Encourage policymakers to incorporate soil and land conservation incentives in economic plans.
  4. Conduct a policy assessment based on the visions outlined by different groups. Provide gender responsive policy recommendations.
  5. Conduct policy dialogue workshops/meetings with relevant stakeholders to validate and disseminate the recommendations.
  6. Establish a support network for women leaders in biodiversity conservation.
