African Women Leaders in Agroecology (AWOLA) Initiative
Africa Women Leaders in Agroecology (AWOLA) Initiative is a leadership career development initiative of the consortium of PELUM Kenya, PELUM Uganda and PELUM Zimbabwe to equip women working on agroecology, sustainable agriculture and food systems with leadership skills.
Funding partner: Tudor Trust, Swiss Development Corporation
Goal: Capacitated women assume leadership in positions and contribute to a higher share of women in important sector positions to promote & implement Agroecology.
Expected Results
- Critical mass of women mentored and coached on agroecology leadership at all levels.
- Women agroecological business initiatives & innovations enhanced /developed.
- Improved capacity for women in AE principles, practice and enterprise development.
- Women actively participating in AE policy influencing.
